This website aims to bring together sociological works and concepts in both Arabic and English. We believe sociology is a global field of study, but it takes different forms depending on the region, culture, and language. The experiences and observations from Europe and the United States are specific to those places, and the theories built from them can’t be considered universal. However, while there have been efforts to create non-European sociologies, this has however not led to fundamentally different theories or variations of sociology autonomous from hegemonic European varieties. This is not surprising, as societies and ideas are deeply interconnected, not least between European and Arab countries. Going beyond both universalism and particularism, our goal is to connect different variations of sociology as part of global knowledge production. We invite you to take part in this project through suggestions and contributions. Read more in the „About“ section
